Deputy Manager/Room Leader – Cambridge

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced individual to join a well-established nursery in Cambridge.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for early childhood education and with a strong childcare background to make a real difference in the lives of young children.

  • Full Time permanent position
  • 40 hours per week
  • 8.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday (unpaid half an hour for lunch)
  • Salary £31,000 - 32,000 pa

Requirements:

  • A recognised qualification in Early Years Education (Level 3 or above).
  • At least 3 years’ proven experience of working in an early years care and education setting
  • Excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both in an office environment and within the pre-school setting.
  • Ability to plan and implement a pre-school curriculum, taking into account the SEN Code of Practice, child protection procedures and equal opportunities considerations.
  • Knowledge of data protection and information management practices and their application within the setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Nursery Manager to lead and support the wider team and be an effective mentor and role model.
  • Ensure the provision of safe, high-quality education and care for all children attending the nursery.
  • Assist the Nursery Manager in fulfilling all legal and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the Nursery Manager to have an appropriate action plan in place which enables the setting to meet Ofsted standards
  • To be responsible for providing a high quality of education and learning, ensuring that staff are properly deployed, and to offer appropriate stimulation and support to the children attending the setting
  • Engage with parents and other staff members to address children’s individual needs
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines to safeguard the well-being of all children and team members
