Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced individual to join a well-established nursery in Stansted.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for early childhood education and with a strong childcare background to make a real difference in the lives of young children.

  • Full Time for 39 weeks of the year (5 days of this are training days)
  • 8.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday (unpaid half an hour for lunch)
  • Salary £15.50 per hour. (Salary is annualised i.e. years wages divided by 12 so the same amount is received each month)
  • Holidays: All school holidays, this is a term time only sessional pre-school.

Requirements:

  • A recognised qualification in Early Years Education (Level 3 or above).
  • Managerial Experience of running a preschool setting
  • At least two years’ proven experience of working in an early years care and education setting or at least two years’ other suitable experience.
  • Ability to ensure that the setting achieves and maintains at least a good Ofsted rating
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both in an office environment and within the pre-school setting.
  • Ability to plan and implement a pre-school curriculum, taking into account the SEN Code of Practice, child protection procedures and equal opportunities considerations.
  • Knowledge of data protection and information management practices and their application within the setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To take responsibility for drawing up long-term, medium-term and sessional curriculum plans which take into account the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and to monitor the effectiveness of the setting’s curriculum; this may include working with external professionals.
  • To be responsible for providing a high quality of education and learning, ensuring that staff are properly deployed, and to offer appropriate stimulation and support to the children attending the setting.
  • The manager will be expected to be on the alarm list for call outs , open the building out of hours , be a named director and trustee. Be the nominated person at Ofsted
  • To have an appropriate action plan in place which enables the setting to achieve and maintain a minimum good Ofsted rating at the next inspection.
  • To take responsibility for ensuring that performance management systems are in place and followed, e.g. induction, probation, supervision, team meetings, appraisals and objective setting.
  • To ensure that staff are appropriately supported to carry out their role effectively
